Once all these pieces were returned, Laurence Maddy (TISM, Something For Kate, Paul Kelly) mixed them at his home studio and Don Bartley did the mastering at Benchmark in Sydney!!

This song includes myself on Drums, Bass, Guitar and Vocals, Andrew Chalmers (Laura) on Slide Guitar and Guitar, Ben Davey (Kimbra) on Piano, Carolyn Gannell (Laura) on Cello and Clare Younis doing Backing Vocals.

Inpress Magazine Review – Shatterproof

Posted on November 7, 2011

Wonderful review by Bryget Chrisfield in INPRESS Magazine this week.
SHADE OF MARCH – Shatterproof
This is a beautifully constructed track, which builds from pianissimo bass keys that pull your focus toward lyrical content before a full-on instrumental dervish blows through the arrangement. ‘Shatterproof’ conjures up the image of a lone individual battling a… typhoon in the desert, on foot, and barely surviving – a video clip director’s dream. Despite the number of instruments weaving in and out (two guitars, bass, piano, strings and drums), it’s never too much and individual players are given opportunities to shine within the arrangement. The mid-phrase, cut-off conclusion is genius. Syncing opportunities abound.
